There are four Insurance Councils, The Alberta Insurance Council, the Insurance Adjusters' Council, the General Insurance Council and the Life Insurance Council. The Alberta Insurance Council is the financial arm of the councils and provides investigation and administrative services to the other councils.
The Insurance Councils of Saskatchewan (ICS) operate under an authority delegated by the Superintendent of Insurance to licence and regulate insurance agents, brokers, adjusters and agencies in the province of Saskatchewan.

We regulate financial institutions and cooperatives in Manitoba. Financial institutions are credit unions, caisses populaires, insurance companies, and trust and loan companies. We also licence accident and baggage insurance agents, hail insurance agents and hail insurance adjusters. We review and approve the corporate legal documents for credit unions, caisses populaires and cooperatives
